Summary
Help keep the Hydra Labs Discord welcoming, safe and well run. Community Moderators are the first people members meet in our hub, keeping conversations on track and pointing people to the right place for help.
About the role
The Hydra Labs Discord is the home of our community: server owners, staff teams and players who use FiveRoster, Phantom, Guildbase, FiveBrowse, FiveStatus and more. With thousands of servers and tens of thousands of daily users across our products, the hub needs people with good judgement to keep it a place people want to be.
As a Community Moderator, you'll look after the day-to-day health of the server. You won't handle support tickets; that's our Application Support Specialists' job. Instead, you'll make sure members are treated well, rules are applied fairly and anyone needing help gets to the right channel quickly.
What you'll do
Keep chat friendly, on-topic and within our rules
Step in calmly when conversations get heated
Remove spam, scams, advertising and harmful content
Point members with product questions towards opening a ticket
Issue warnings, timeouts and bans fairly, logging each action with a clear reason
Flag abusive ticket behaviour or wider issues to the staff team
Help welcome new members and support announcements and community events
What we're looking for
18 or over
Previous Discord moderation experience is a plus, but good judgement matters more
Calm, fair and consistent, including with friends and with people criticising our products
Comfortable working with a team and backing up decisions
Reliable availability, with a few hours a week you can genuinely commit
Familiarity with Hydra Labs products or the FiveM and Discord communities
What you'll get
Hands-on experience moderating a large, active community
A behind-the-scenes look at how a growing software studio runs its community
A place in the Hydra Labs team, working alongside people who care about the products
Good to know
This is a volunteer, unpaid role. All staff follow the Hydra Labs Staff Code of Conduct, and moderation access is privileged and can be removed at any time.
How to apply
Apply through our Community Moderator application on Guildbase. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a short voice call before a final decision.
